During the last months, we have neglected (unconsciously, but unforgivably) a young generation of talented singer-songwriters that are quickly gaining some good attention. But from now on, we will try to fix this hole. One of these songwriters is the 24 year old singer Lotta Jääskelä, who recently released her second album Blue Autumn that includes ten well-crafted originals written by herself and recored along with her band and the help of a few guest such as blues master and harp virtuoso Pepe Ahlqvist. The warmness and elegancy of Lotta’s songs along with the soft touches of blues and pop quickly remind us of singers like Norah Jones and Neko Case, and in a similar way, the Finnish composer manages to create catchy pieces (Will), bluesy stories (Ordinary Sunday Mornings) and stripped down touching songs (A Little Girl).
The following track is one of the most intimate moments in Blue Autumn where Lotta truly shines as a songwriter.
