Get your song on the Music Alliance Pact’s 50th edition

The Music Alliance Pact turns 50 in November 2012, so we are preparing a very special and exclusive post. You can take part of it. I will choose the Finnish representative on that month’s post through a competition, opened up for any Finland based artist or band.

Since Jason, from The Pop Cop in Scotland, started this project in October 2008, artists from nearly 40 countries have shared more than 1500 songs which have been featured in nearly 40 different blogs based in as many nations around the world. Even though Glue would not join the pact until a few months later, I want to participate the celebrations and help preparing the most exclusive MAP post ever.

The plan is that all the MAP blogs will post an exclusive/unreleased/never-heard-before song from their native lands on the November 2012 edition. As this is a Helsinki based blog, Glue will submit a song by artists from, or living in, Finland.

What we’re after is a knockout track that hasn’t been made public before, so whether that’s something recorded specifically for this competition or a song that has never previously been shared with the rest of the world, now’s your chance to get it heard.

How to participate

Just email your mp3 (properly tagged please) no later than 20 October 2012 to info@glue.fi with the subject title “MAP competition“. The entry that I like the most will be asked to represent Finland. Easy as that.

How does the Music Alliance Pact work?

A group of music blogs from six continents pick their favourite song from their own country and cross-post the entire selection once a month, thereby multiplying the exposure of each artist by the number of blogs in the project, which currently stands at nearly 40. All MAP songs are free, legal downloads.
