Pepe Deluxé – A Night and a Day

Based on psychedelic electronica that embraces funk and rock, Pepe Deluxé have created a genre of its own and become one of the most peculiar bands in Finland. For their upcoming fourth full-length Queen of the Wave, the band has record a pop opera based on Frederick S. Oliver’s classic book A Dweller on Two Planets. The first single is already out there and you can watch the video for it below.

70vierailijaa – Remixes

The debut of Helsinki band 70vierailijaa was a delicious piece of Finnish pop that sweetened the long and dark winter nights. Now Holy Feather publishes an EP of remixes that propose an interesting twist to the band’s songs, with a very danceable approach. The EP includes four new mixes done by three experienced Finnish remixers: Arto Koivisto (aka Little Bitchard & LB), Antti Nykyri (aka AKB), Christian Thomas (aka Crux). Lauri Saine – Forgotten Notes

To ease the hangover after the holiday break, we welcome the new year with the smooth electronic sounds of Lauri Saine. On his latest album, the artists explores what he calls “sampladelica” to seamlessly combine sampled and recorded sounds to create eight new jazz and hip hop influenced instrumental tracks. The result is elegant and inspiring with a cinematic nature. TV Off – Ms Jackson

TV OFF released their debut album Music Machine a few weeks ago, but this charming electro pop duo continue recording new music, apart of keeping their non stop web 2.0 activity. This time TV OFF hits the blogosphere with a very a cover of Outkast’s Ms Jackson. The song gets a very special treatment thanks to Sara’s vocals. TV OFF are taking part of the Night of the Arts festivities today in Helsinki with a show at the Grand Casino before visiting Berlin in a few days for Popkomm 2010.
